Ashburton CBD Revitalisation Project
Take a trip to Ashburton town centre and there’s every chance you’ll find yourself muttering words to the effect of ‘this is all looking rather nice’. You’d be right, too. It is looking rather nice and there’s a very good reason for it.
The Ashburton CBD streets have been transformed into a place where workers, shoppers and tourists can enjoy the delights of a well-thought out plan, with consideration given to using nature for shading, carbon sequestration and water efficiency.

Central to this redevelopment was the use of both younger specimens and mature trees, supplied by Easy Big Trees. Trees are really perfect for any CBD when you take a moment to ponder their benefits. Every CBD needs to look good, as we are all drawn to beauty, and every CBD also needs to be developed as sustainably as possible, because lasting beauty is much nicer than fleeting beauty, and the planet needs our help with that.
Trees do both. They have a positive impact on the environment and on the visitor. They are simultaneously functional and aesthetically appealing. It’s a mixture worthy of an award.
