Opening doors to expand their global reach amongst the Asian market, Bankston recently previewed their architectural hardware collections in Hong Kong.
Hosted by Archetypal, a leading Hong Kong furniture and lighting retailer established in 2012 that curates original designs from international and emerging brands, focusing on design integrity, innovative craftsmanship, and tailored solutions for professionals and the public. Held at the retro-inspired Cantonese salon, Kinsman, the event shook up the city’s cocktail hour with architects and design enthusiasts gathered upon the city hot-spot’s checkered floors to engage with Bankston’s first three collections: Super Collection, Hemispheres and Casts.
Touch Points
Archetypal, Bankston’s newly appointed Hong Kong distributors, shared stories behind the collaborative partnerships for each collection with a spotlight on Hemispheres by Civilian. Filled with insights about the inspiration behind the pieces and their suitability across the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors, the evening celebrated a true global design partnership.
In the Mood for Love
Given Kinsman nostalgically channels the romance of the 1960s Hong Kong bar scene in Wong Kar-wai’s cult classic, In the Mood for Love, it provided the ideal backdrop to present the distinctly unique designs that epitomise a timeless appeal. Hemispheres celebrates beauty, quality, and reinvented tradition. It enhances environments that hint at the past, alluding to distant places and eras, while remaining distinctly modern. The collection title, Hemispheres, not only references a central dome motif within the range, but also symbolises the collaboration’s global nature. Civilian in the Northern Hemisphere and Bankston in the Southern Hemisphere. This title encapsulates the essence of the partnership, emphasising a shared design ethos transcending geographic bounds. This launch introduces a key new partnership and signals the next chapter in Bankston’s global journey.
