With 25 years industry experience under his belt, Blair (Blu) Tipler is passionate about building beautiful residential and commercial properties, both to the same exacting architectural standard. 

Blu has owned and operated Kobe Construction for the last seven years and has assembled specialist teams in Christchurch and Queenstown focused on pushing the boundaries to consistently achieve maximum results and quality for all projects. 

“Our pedigree is high-end bespoke architectural homes,” says Blu. “Some of the clients that we’ve built homes for also operate in the commercial space and they asked us to do projects for them of a very technical nature. We took our skillset for working on bespoke architectural homes into the commercial sector, taking a focused high-end delivery approach.” 

Blu has an impressive portfolio of completed projects in the Queenstown Lakes and Canterbury regions, along with experience in Australia, UK and North America. 

“We provide a full range of architectural construction services, with a focus on technical construction and innovation. Having developed the technical knowledge, experience and equipment to deliver the most complex projects, Kobe Construction has been nationally recognised as one of the leaders in MASS Timber Project delivery. 

“We’ve just built a hybrid building in Christchurch using glulam products, and we installed some massive glulam portals and supporting structures over the pool at the Queenstown Country Club, We travel all over New Zealand installing and delivering specialist construction solutions using glulam and other engineered timber products in commercial buildings. Our focus on innovation and progressive development is what sets us apart and we’re always looking to be challenged.” 

Standing out from the crowd, Kobe Construction has been selected to be part of the project’s construction team. The resort project is broken down to various stages, with the whole project running out to a number of years.
