Did you know that Etex Australia is the only manufacturer of plasterboard and metal systems in Australia to offer an opt-in carbon neutral program, certified by Climate Active?
Etex Australia is the manufacturer of Siniat products and the opt-in program is available for a wide range of locally made plasterboard and metal products.
It’s easy to opt in
Nazli Almasirad, Siniat National Architectural Manager, said it’s easy to opt in for the program.
“All architects, designers and specifiers need to do to make use of the opt-in offer, is to specify Siniat carbon neutral products at the early design stage of a project. Once the products are supplied to the project site, Siniat will work with the builders and contractors to determine the exact quantity of supplied products and calculate the carbon offsets,” she said.
What is meant by carbon neutral?
Carbon neutrality refers to a situation where the net greenhouse gas emissions of an organisation, service or a product are equal to zero.
At Siniat our business has been investing in energy efficient work strategies for more than a decade. The business has also also introduced a wide range of measures aimed at reducing the overall carbon emissions.
Why carbon neutral?
By using Siniat products and opting into Siniat’s Climate Active certified carbon neutral program, specifiers and contractors can reduce their building’s upfront carbon emissions to meet the requirements of the Positive category of Green Star ratings tools.
A wide range of locally made Siniat plasterboard is GreenTag GreenRate Level A certified, which is recognized as meeting the credit requirements of the Responsible category. Opting into Siniat’s Climate Active Carbon neutral program, will result in achieving Exceptional Performance under the GBCA Responsible Products Framework.
The sustainability focus of the Etex Group
“We have been actively working on reducing our impact on the environment and improving our sustainability offering for about a decade. When we rebranded our products and services to Siniat earlier this year, we were delighted to find that the global sustainability focus of the Etex Group aligns perfectly with our own,” said Gavin Burton, Managing Director of Etex Australia (Siniat).
The Etex Group unveiled its first ever Sustainability report in October, and it is a strong sustainability commitment from the Group that formalizes their sustainability ambitions, initiatives and processes.
As a company whose business depends on the use of raw materials, energy, water and other resources, the Etex Group is extremely conscious of its responsibility and has identified four main areas to work on for sustainability:
