The TUF-R is a field-replaceable USB A+C laptop and mobile charging module that has been designed to fit most of the OE Elsafe product range. TUF-R can be integrated into desktop power rails, table boxes and loose furniture, and can even be panel mounted, providing convenient charging access for laptops and mobile devices. Designed as a module, TUF-R can be replaced by anyone in less than two minutes, allowing upgrades or replacement in the event of damage. TUF-R is the power delivery end of the award-winning ANIMATE range, which took out the Australian Business Awards, New Product Innovation Award for 2022.

Most end-user commercial space power solutions incorporate the AC mains socket and USB charger into one moulded product. AC mains socket technology has been constant for 50 years; however, USB charging technology evolves to keep pace with advancements in laptops and mobile phones. The different rate of technological advancement required an innovative solution, which was perfectly addressed by the unique OE Elsafe modular design.  By upgrading or replacing just the TUF-R charging module and not the whole product, the life of the product is extended, saving time, money and reducing waste.

OE Elsafe has made it easy to change a TUF-R module with their purpose designed replacement tool. Designed for simplicity, the replacement tool can be used by anyone to change a TUF-R module in less than two minutes without the need to turn off the power or call an electrician. TUF-R features the world’s first USB Type-A port to allow USB Type-A cable connectors to be inserted both ways.

The benefits of the TUF-R USB charger are many. The biggest is the facility manager's ability to swap out USB charging modules quickly and easily, reducing downtime for the end user. Replacing just the TUF-R module also significantly reduces the amount of otherwise good products going into landfills. As for the reversible Type A port? We all know the frustration of trying to connect the A port USB cable connector this way or that way and finally connecting after 3 or 4 attempts. A single attempt connection streamlines the end user experience and reduces damage and wear from incorrect attempts, extending the life of both the TUF-R module and the product it is fitted into.
