MILDEW REMOVAL TIPS
Our Australian climate can be challenging on our outdoor living spaces, even in the sunniest of gardens, winter dampness & tropical humidity creates mildew and our cushions may need a little more care. Some people bring their cushions in over the seasons, I like to keep them out as I love the look, ready to entertain at any notice!
EXTRA CLEAN NEEDED
And if you have pets, our home has a new puppy! Tully is an adorable Australian Cattle Dog X - there's nothing more fun for her than flipping the daybed cushions into the garden after she's leapt on them (like a 2 year old in the IKEA ball room) !!! Cheeky to watch, endearing, entertaining... but really messy!
MUST DO
This weekend i'm refreshing our outdoor living area, deck, lounge, daybed & dining all at the same time in the same way.
Gumboots on, i'll do before and after shots...!
THIS IS HOW
It's really simple, i'm not even going to remove the cushion covers! Grab a bucket & large sponge, add a cup of bleach with a mild soap (i've even used dish liquid), gloves on and start spongeing up - liberally! Leave it for a while (about the time it takes for a cup of tea), grab the hose & rinse off!
Happy days & ready for more outdoor living!
Official Sunbrella Guide
Removal of Mold & Mildew Stains.
Sunbrella fabrics do not promote mildew growth, however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances if not removed from the fabric. To remove mold or mildew:
Prepare a solution of 1 cup of bleach and one fourth cup mild soap per gallon of water. (a gallon is just under 4 litres)
