nspired Spaces were invited to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Concord to help with their upcoming transformation.  The Church was wanting to be more appealing to a younger congregation and bring it into the current century.  Their brief was to update the church, create calmness and ambiance along with having practical, attractive finishes.

On our first site visit it was easy to see the potential.  We took notes and photos while discussing the churches needs and requirements.

Inspired Spaces then went away to work on a colour scheme and gather samples including carpet, tiles and cabinetry options.

Throughout the design process, communication with all key players was paramount. This ensured a final design that fulfilled all the brief requirements.

The final scheme was presented to the Church Committee by Inspired Spaces using a mood board. Larger samples and swatches were also used to help with visualisation.

Before and After

Here are a few before and after shots to show the amazing transformation:

The front entry went from looking tired and bland to fresh and inviting!  Walls painted a classic navy blue with crisp white trims and beautiful seamless floor tiles give maximise impact on arrival.  Despite the dark wall colour the entry is lighter and brighter than before with the fresh, clean contrasting white.

A large amount of timber dominated the existing Sanctuary.  This made it feel dark and cluttered, especially with everywhere else being off-white.

By removing some of the timber and using a neutral colour palette it made the space feel open and bright.  It also created a softness and a calm ambiance with visual interest added by beautiful blue, handblown glass pendant lights.  The blue carpet highlights but grounds the rostrum and unifies the space with the entry nicely.
