Following the close of KANAT Studio, Kate Pilot has established Kate Pilot Design. An independent practice grounded in a more focused, deeply integrated approach to interiors.

Positioned at the intersection of interior design and architecture, the studio works closely with architects and developers to ensure spatial planning, materiality and detailing are considered as a unified whole from the outset. The shift reflects a deliberate move towards projects where interiors are not applied, but embedded, shaping how a space is experienced rather than simply how it is seen.

At the centre of Pilot’s approach is a nuanced understanding of how people move through space. Each project begins with the individual. How they live, work and interact, allowing the design to respond with specificity and restraint. The result is work that feels considered, personal and inherently connected to its context.

Within Acorn Showroom, a layered entry sequence defined by shoji-inspired screening and warm timber joinery gently guides movement while framing moments of pause.
Natural oak cabinetry and integrated lighting create a quiet backdrop for material exploration, where texture and tone are considered with precision.

This next chapter builds on a strong foundation of collaborative work developed through KANAT, while signalling a more distilled and independent direction. One that prioritises clarity of vision and depth of engagement across both residential and commercial environments.
