Latest heating solution for architectural spaces

Bespoke heating solutions for architectural spaces haven’t always been easy to come by. Especially if you’re after a streamlined look that keeps the attention on the space rather than the heating device itself. But the latest heating system to arrive on New Zealand shores - Hudevad Radiators of Denmark – holds the answer to this common problem. Since the company’s foundation in 1936, Hudevad Radiators has become an icon of Danish design and Scandinavian minimalism. From hidden and discrete to bold and outstanding, Hudevad Radiators are known for their sleek, contemporary design that fits into a wide range of architectural styles.

Some models also have the advantage of being anti-microbial – meaning they’re designed to be 100% hygienic, making them suitable for a vast range of applications including hospitals, schools and medical facilities.

Distributor Warm NZ’s Todd Bowmast says one of the biggest advantages of using Hudevad Radiators is the ability to customise solutions. “We have always worked closely with architects and designers to come up with customised solutions for projects. From heating homes to schools, hospitals and heritage buildings, we contribute our expertise to achieve their vision.”

For example the Hudevad Consilio, a bench radiator, was designed with the architect of student accommodation in Denmark. It was designed to solve the issue of space, so that the radiator gets a dual function as a useful piece of furniture in 130 student flats.

The ability to innovate has resulted in a number of innovations and firsts, such as the use of built-in valves, serial connections, hidden piping and super-hygienic radiators for hospitals.

By combining advanced automated production techniques and skilled craftsmanship in the Denmark factory, Hudevad is able to create unique products that are built to last, look good and perform in any climate.

The P5 range (horizontal and vertical) is one of the best-known in the Hudevad Radiators family. With a thickness of just 40mm and made of fully-welded 2mm steel front plate, it is the slimmest, most durable and sleekest solution for heating. Because it can be produced in lengths of up to four metres and widths of one metre, it is also particularly versatile, with huge heat-output.

Another unique Hudevad radiator is the SC, which can be made in variable lengths of up to six metres, and with variable spacing of the elements. The advantage of this is it can be used in front of glazing because the wide spacing allows light to pass through, it is easy to clean, and completely safe. The top surface can be finished with a hand-rail for a unique look, like in the New Carlsberg Museum, a national heritage building in Copenhagen.  

In-house design and production in the Denmark factory provides the ability to meet the highest demands and customise in so many ways. For example, when seeking to customise, it’s possible to have piping coming from the side, underneath or rear of the radiator, or it can be completely hidden. “If a custom colour matching is required,  or a radiator requires a unique placement, for example, a loft, niche or heritage structure, there’s always a customisable solution,” says Todd.
