Commercial lighting is not merely a functional necessity; it has the power to transform spaces, evoke emotions, and enhance experiences in retail and hospitality environments, office spaces, and schools. Skilled designers use the interplay of light and shadow to tell stories, captivate customers and create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances productivity, connection and wellbeing.
Flick On is on a mission to develop creative lighting solutions that are on trend and meet designers’ briefs. With the head office, warehouse and assembly facilities in Adelaide, the company is committed to supporting the local economy and works with selected contractors and partners to deliver the best solution for each project.
“We forge partnerships with a few carefully selected suppliers who share our same vision, thereby building long-term relationships that prioritise quality control and continual product development. We are a one-stop solution catering to all stages of a project: from design and tender to the installation and after-sales customer service,” explains Justin Ruston, Flick On’s Business Development Manager.
The LE5535 LED profile is specifically designed for recessed installations in walls or ceilings and received the prestigious IF Design Award in both the "Lighting" and "Design" categories in 2016.
As a growing business with a big vision, Flick On is focused on differentiating itself from the local competition. Manufacturing is bespoke and to specifications from designers and architects.
Whether for retail or hospitality customers, the Flick On team takes the time to listen to what the customer wants to achieve in a certain space and what ambience they want to create within their budget.
We're manufacturing to specifications. We see ourselves as consultants and partners rather than a product supplier only and that’s why we work with the customer to his brief and budget to deliver a solution that ticks all the boxes.
Word of mouth is crucial, so Justin spends a lot of time sharing the company story with the design industry and loves a project that is outside the norm – a winery, for example.
“We give every project the tender loving care it deserves and work closely with the designers to find the best solution for their projects. It is our aim to be remembered as a go-to partner for innovative, artistic lighting design,” says Justin.
At the end of the day, it’s all about creating beautiful experiences for the people who use the spaces.
Flick On also prides itself on outstanding technical support, availability and regular site visits. The company currently employs 11 staff and has plans to double in size by 2025, further contributing to local employment in South Australia.
