Schweigen strengthens its sustainability approach by refining how it measures emissions and supports verified carbon offset initiatives.

Taking Climate Action

In collaboration with Trace, a Sydney-based climate technology provider, Schweigen tracks and manages emissions across its operations. This enables practical emission reduction opportunities that are aligned with internal processes and industry standards for appliance manufacturing.

Emissions that can’t yet be eliminated are offset through work with Greenfleet, an established not-for-profit that supports native reforestation projects across Australia and New Zealand.

Last financial year, Schweigen offset 223 tonnes of carbon emissions through Greenfleet-supported projects, contributing to outcomes including:

  • Carbon storage within biodiverse native forests
  • Restoration and protection of local ecosystems
  • Creation of habitats for native wildlife

Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted more than 11.2 million native trees, and established over 550 legally protected forests across Australia and New Zealand, with protection periods extending up to 100 years.
