Transforming residential and commercial spaces, these modern frameless glass systems impress with curved forms and seamless designs.

Balustrades and pool fencing are essential in many projects, with countless options available. For those wanting to achieve a stylish, cohesive design that goes a step further, frameless glass is a stunning choice.

Established in 2010 by master glazier James Charge, Clear Brilliance provides customised glass designs to Melbourne builders, landscapers and homeowners – specialising in pool fences, shower screens, commercial glazing projects and more.

Frameless glass pool fencing makes outdoor spaces seamlessly connect and allow for undisrupted views.

Situated in the heart of the Yarra Valley with a breathtaking outlook, this beautiful property benefits from Clear Brilliance’s frameless glass pool fencing – visually connecting the outdoor spaces and offering undisrupted views.

“With no shortage of areas to entertain, what better way to open the space than with a frameless glass pool fence,” says James Charge, owner and managing director at Clear Brilliance

“Blending two styles for this project to include spigots and standoffs allows us to maximise the scope by using every inch of floor space. Not to mention the luxurious appearance standoffs offer to maximise the breathtaking outlook.”

As well as allowing the surrounding landscape to be the focal point, frameless glass pool fencing can also make a small space feel larger.

With a conservative block size, Clear Brilliance's frameless glass pool fence assists in creating an illusion of continual space in this project by providing unobstructed views from all angles.

“The clean and geometric architecture on this project is further highlighted by the straight and level lines of the glass panels, evoking a sense of harmony,” says Charge.

“We love how the contrast between the clean lines and the flowing element of the water portrays a stunning visual effect, which is captured by our frameless glass pool fence.”

Crafted with Clear Brilliance’s SGP toughened safety glass, this curved balustrade doesn’t require a handrail, allowing a seamless transition between the glazing and steel components.

“As always, the attention to detail and millimetre-perfect requirements have created a stunning centrepiece for this space. We were pleased to continue our admiration for all things curved when designing this balustrade, and in doing so, further enhancing the space to add a delicate touch to its brutalist surroundings.”

A residential home in Vermont South, Melbourne

A curved glass balustrade has also been made and installed by Clear Brilliance to give the interior of this home an impressive first impression.

Seen upon entry to the double-height foyer area, the balustrade complements the rest of the home with its matte black handrail and fixings.

“The entryway at our Vermont South project conveys exactly why we love curved designs in interiors of homes, particularly this space with its bright, open and welcoming demeanour. Our design creates a bold statement that is continued from indoors to outdoors while allowing the space to have unobscured views through the use of our frameless glass balustrades.”

Recently completed, the Helen & Joey Estate in the Yarra Valley is home to a restaurant, cellar door and 16-room boutique hotel.

Overlooking vineyards on the 200-acre property, the estate benefits from Clear Brilliance’s external glass balustrades and frameless glass shower screens to capture the surroundings and elevate the design.

“The project involved lots of shapes and lots of preparation work, but the result is really beautiful,” says Charge.

“For the restaurant, regulations meant the balustrade design needed to be semi-frameless so it would be stronger with the number of people that could be using the space and leaning on it at the same time.”

Internally for both the restaurant and onsite Re’em Hotel, frameless balustrades have been installed, elegantly curved in sections of the stairwell.

The view from each bathroom has also been maximised with Clear Brilliance’s frameless glass shower screens, capturing the rolling hills.

There are many factors to consider when incorporating frameless glass in projects, whether it be pool fencing, internal and external balustrades, shower screens and more.

“Our advice is to always have a clear vision of what you’re trying to achieve,” says Charge.

“Particularly for balustrading, there are lots of rules and regulations. It can be challenging to achieve this in a way that meets the aesthetic design you’re after, so do your research and think about what you’re trying to achieve. Then we can compile the information and provide the best option that meets both safety needs and the right aesthetic.”
