It all begins with an idea. Maybe you need more space. Maybe you just need your space to work for you, instead of against you. Or maybe you have a vision you need help bringing to life. Whatever it is, this stage is about defining the direction of your next chapter.

A Home Masterplan Report is the strategic piece that will give you clarity to move forward.

This initial stage is where we begin to weave inspiration, opportunities and constraints of past and place into your personal inhabited narrative.

A Home Masterplan Report is ideal for clients still deciding on:

  • Strategic Direction [sell or extend, buy or build],
  • Scope of Works [3 bed or 4],
  • Budget [how much do you choose to invest for the outcome],
  • Configurations [should the master suite be at the front of the house or on level 1], and/or
  • Professional Guide [who will lead you through this process).

Our homes are one of, if not the, most expensive assets we will ever own and there are at least tens of thousands of decisions that go into developing each and every design. Construction projects can be intensely emotional journeys and it’s important for us to be able to look back and remember why we’re embarking on this venture.

“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can.” — Neil Gaiman

The first step in your design project. We start putting on paper the inspiration, opportunities, and constraints that will define your project and begin deep-diving into what inspired you to take this journey.

Inclusions:

  • Site Visit & Briefing Meeting
  • Vic Gov Planning Report
  • Opinion of Probable Cost*
  • Fee proposal for architectural services
  • Council Planning Scheme Review
  • Site Analysis
  • Initial Dial Before You Dig Review
  • Initial Spatial Planning / Masterplan (3 x Design Options)

What is Included?

The Masterplan Report is the first step in your home renovation or build design project. We start putting on paper the architectural inspiration, site opportunities and constraints, and needs of the family that will define your project - beginning the deep-dive into what inspired you to take this journey. This may also be referred to as a Feasibility Study, Asset Management Plan, or Spatial Analysis by some firms though the terms are not strictly interchangeable.

A Masterplan Report is a collation of a site analysis, inspiration images, spatial analysis diagrams (a.k.a. “Masterplans”) and topped off with an Opinion of Probable Cost to start the budget conversation.

Our Home Masterplan Reports always present three options that provide a range of possibilities. These options reflect a sliding scale between meeting all your requirements and adhering to the specified budget. By presenting these options, we aim to provide you with flexibility and the ability to make informed decisions that align with your vision and financial considerations.

When a clients’ budget and dream requirements are already aligned that gives us the freedom to explore layout options which may reflect alternate lifestyle preferences.

This is an “obligation free” service. Once this report has been completed there is no obligation to continue your design journey with our firm and you may take the report with you as a briefing document to any other designer if you choose.

So What Next?

A Masterplan is not a house design. It’s a strategic vision. The first ground rules in a campaign that may stretch across a number of months or years.

Visions will be refined.

Designs will evolve.

Until the day where you and your team of trusted advisors delivers into reality your vision of the ideal lifestyle for you and your family.

Start your journey on the right foot.
