Ensuring the security of private spaces and valuables is easier and more accessible than ever.

Smart locks are electronic devices constructed from innovative technology that allows mechanisms to be closed and opened using a smartphone, rather than a physical key. It provides users with an easy, user-friendly experience driven by an app, and often includes bonus features such as remote access, automatic timers and the ability to grant temporary access to visitors, such as cleaners, tradespeople or guests.

Some of the benefits of smart locks include being able to lock and unlock doors from your phone, the ability to assign individual passcodes to family members, and tracking who is walking through your door, and when. Furthermore, smart locks ensure there’s no more need for spare keys, or hiding keys under the doormat. Some smart locks can fuse seamlessly with existing home automation systems and smart devices, and offer an elevated level of safety and security for homes and multi-residential environments.

Get to know the product

One of our favourite smart lock products is the Yale Unity Entrance Lock, a fire-rated product with accessible-compliant lever. Founded in 1840, Yale is one of the oldest lock manufacturers in the world and is owned by parent company, Assa Abloy. While one may expect a heritage brand such as this to focus on traditional mechanical locks, Yale has become a leader in the industry by developing advanced security products with smart technology that’s easy to use and install.

Enjoy the benefits

The Yale Unity Entrance Lock allows those with disabilities to seamlessly access their spaces in multi-residential environments. The lever has been designed in accordance with access and mobility certifications, and tested for two hours on fire door assemblies in accordance with Australian standards of fire-resistant door sets. This wondrous lock is ready to install fresh out of the box, and features LED lock alert indicators to communicate when the lock is engaged, and disengaged, with yellow and green signals respectively.

The Yale Unity Entrance Lock can be controlled via the Yale Access app, contactless key tag or a PIN code that can be entered on the Yale Smart Keypad. In addition to the benefits mentioned above, this lock can grant users one time access, or even access for a set period of time or a date range. Depending on your connectivity option, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GPS, you can also set the lock to disengage upon your approach to the door. Another safety feature of this lock is the door position sensor, which checks the status of the door and notifies the user if it is securely closed and locked.
