TON's roots can be traced back to 1861, when a bent furniture plant was opened in Bystrice pod Hostýnem, Czech Republic. Today, TON is among the oldest bentwood furniture manufacturers in the world, with a reputation for quality craftsmanship and innovative design. With a unique labour organization system and the use of advanced technologies, TON has been able to produce chairs at a reasonable price, expanding its reach across the globe.
Since 1861, TON has been committed in bentwood furniture manufacturing.
Over the years, TON has established vocational schools, kindergartens, a band, and even a casino to support its workers. After merging with Kohn-Mundus in 1924 and weathering the economic hardships of two world wars, TON became a national enterprise in 1946. In 1953, it was renamed TON, and since 1994, it has been a joint stock company. Through it all, TON has remained dedicated to its legacy of care for its workers and innovation in bentwood furniture manufacturing.
