Austral AB22 is a high-performance structural plywood that combines a refined AB-grade appearance with a super-strong F22 stress grade. Designed to replace Austral Exterior, AB22 delivers the same clean Hoop Pine face finish, now enhanced with superior strength, stiffness, and durability.

Manufactured from sustainably sourced Araucaria (Hoop Pine), Austral AB22 is suitable for a wide range of interior and semi-exposed applications where both structural performance and visual quality are essential. Its exterior A-Bond phenolic glue system, black glueline, and 25-year bond warranty ensure long-term reliability, even in demanding environments.

Austral AB22 features a true multiply construction, with veneers of consistent thickness throughout the panel. This creates a clean, evenly banded edge that can be left exposed as a deliberate design feature—ideal for furniture, joinery, shelving, and architectural detailing where the panel edge is visible.

Compliant with Australian Standards for both structural and exterior plywood, Austral AB22 offers architects, builders, and designers confidence in specification—whether the panel is expressed or concealed within the build.

Austral AB22 is manufactured to Australian Standards AS/NZS 2269 (Structural Plywood) and AS/NZS 2271 (Exterior Plywood).

Scope of use

Austral AB22 is ideal for interior and semi-exposed applications that require a balance of appearance and strength, including:
