The About series is HAY’s most versatile furniture series. It began with a chair and blossomed into a series with virtually unlimited potential. With the About series, Hee Welling has proven that a single strong idea can hold a wealth of development options. Today, the series includes dining and conference chairs, office chairs, bar stools, lounge chairs, tables, a footstool and, as the latest addition, a sofa, and it is equally perfect for private and public settings. The About series is a true pragmatist, able to blend in or stand out, depending on the task it is assigned. Dramatize the silhouette with heavier upholstery, or opt for more subtle materials and colours. The many colour, upholstery and frame options are a particularly strong feature that allows you to tweak the design without compromising the basic concept.
About a Lounge Chair has a compact body combined with legs made of round wooden poles. About a Lounge Chair has a strong signature and a keen sense of proportions with its late-modern references and contemporary textural qualities. It is available in a low-backed or high-backed version. In this high-backed version, the construction is made of straps, which makes the seat softer and eliminates the need for a cushion. About a Lounge Chair has a sculptural appearance, and the stitching in the back contributes to a graphic line that appears subtle or striking, depending on your choice of upholstery. The high-backed About a Lounge Chair is designed to form a whole with About an Ottoman, but even though having a place to put up your feet does hold obvious appeal, About a Lounge Chair also works fine in its own right, without the foot stool.

Established in 1997, Cult (formerly Corporate Culture) formed to provide not only exceptional designer furniture, but also a high level of customer service, a combination not yet experienced in the Australian marketplace.
In his endeavours since then, company founder and director Richard Munao has built one of the most comprehensive collections of brand partners in Australia and New Zealand. Cult has grown from its first location in Sydney to now include showrooms in Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland as well as distributors in Canberra, Adelaide and Perth.
In addition to founding Cult, and supporting strong international partners like Fritz Hansen, Carl Hansen & Son, &Tradition, HAY and Gubi, Richard is actively involved in discovering and mentoring emerging Australian and New Zealand design talent. As founder of Cult’s Design Journey Competition, which began in 2004, Richard gives designers throughout Australia and New Zealand the opportunity to have their designs prototyped and put into production.
