The innovative AmbiPower® range of Heat Pump water heaters has welcomed a new, affordable era of water heating to New Zealand. Rather than using the traditional methods of electricity or gas to heat your home’s water, the AmbiPower® – a heat pump water heater – utilises heat from the surrounding air. As there is always heat in the atmosphere which can be used, the AmbiPower® provides a reliable, efficient, and sustainable way to reduce your water heating energy consumption that doesn’t rely on direct sunlight to operate. The result: a water heater that can save you up to, or over 70% reducing household water heating costs.

How Heat Pump Water Heaters Work
  • Heat pump water heaters have a fan that draws outside air into the cylinder through inlet louvres.
  • An evaporator is then able to absorb the heat from the air and transfer it into the water through a heat exchanger.
  • The cold air is discharged through the air outlet louvres and released back into the atmosphere.
  • This process continues until the required water temperature is reached – which means readily available hot water for the household. Even on cloudy or cold days, heat can be drawn from the surrounding air.
