Atlas Table by Goldsworthy Studio

Solid oak blocks are cut, hewn, laminated, machined, and polished to create elemental forms derived from vertebrates. Resembling a spinal column in repose, these blocks stack, located by polished spheres, to bear the weight of the table’s disc-shaped upper surface.

Finely machined bearings permit the tabletop’s fluid, zoomorphic movement, remaking the mechanics which guide the head. Reclining, crouched patiently beside the sofa, the attendant slumbers until called into service.

In silent homage to the Titan who propped up the globe, Atlas accepts the daily burdens of domestic lif. dutifully offering up surfaces to live with, lie with, kneel at, and place objects upon.

About the
Seller

Established in 1997, Cult (formerly Corporate Culture) was formed to provide not only exceptional designer furniture, but also a high level of customer service, a combination not yet experienced in the Australian marketplace.

In his endeavours since then, company founder and director Richard Munao have built one of the most comprehensive collections of brand partners in Australia and New Zealand. Cult has grown from its first location in Sydney to now include showrooms in Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland as well as distributors in Canberra, Adelaide and Perth.

In addition to founding Cult, and supporting strong international partners like Fritz Hansen, Carl Hansen & Son, &Tradition, HAY and Gubi, in 2017 Cult launched Nau, a contemporary collection of Australian made furniture, lighting and accessories by a collective of Australia's most curious, talented and spirited designers.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
