Collection of Antique Val St Lambert Footed Paperweights

$425

A collection of antique Val St Lambert spherical stemmed paperweights c.1880. These are also referred to as wig holders. The name sulphide comes from the use of sulphur in the early manufacturing of these artistic gems in the late 19th century. The sulphide within is usually made from a glass paste and/or clay (ceramic) material that is completely encased within the glass. Most have inclusions in the glass which is quite common. A wonderful decorative accent for the desk , coffee table or used as bookends.
