Cupa ReadySlate® Pre-Assembled Roofing is the worlds first pre-assembled or modular, natural slate roofing system. Developed and patented by CUPA GROUP, it joins our CupaClad Natural slate rain-screen façade system. Readyslate® has been formed by nature for over 500 million years to provide unmatched and unbeatable characteristics. The modular design reduces installation time by up to 80%.
Natural slate is a long lasting, high strength, waterproof and fire resistant natural material which retains it natural beauty and remains unchanged over decades of performance. Our 100% slate is split by hand and uses no additional treatment chemicals. Combined with its unmatchable durability this makes it a sustainable material with low environmental impact.
ReadySlate modules are composed of 6 high quality hand-quarried natural slates (3,5 mm thick), mounted on a waterproofing bituminous membrane. Its modular design ensures complete waterproofing and seamless integration with any existing roof elements. The four-step installation utilises the same style of flashing and finishing systems we have been using with our Owens Corning Roofing System over the last 25 years. Valleys, ridge, hips and other inclusions can be combined with Readyslate® utilising these tried and tested New Zealand roofing designs.
The modular design means that Readyslate® can be installed by any qualified roofing contractor quickly and cost effectively. Readyslate® does not need to be installed by a slate specialised contractor. The system is designed to be faster and reliable alternative.
No other artificial alternative product can compare with slate.

The most ecological and sustainable choice
Natural slate is a mineral product. Its production process from the quarry to installation is highly efficient, and it does not employ any chemical products. Therefore, making it completely ecological.
The Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), which evaluates the environmental impact of a product from extraction to the final disposal, confirms that natural slate is an ecological option for any architectural project.
Furthermore, the independent database, Inventory of Carbon and Energy (ICE, University of Bath), highlights natural slate as the material with the lowest number of adverse impacts on the environment.
