The Eclisse table lamp was already designed in the year 1967 by Vico Magistretti for the Italian manufacturer Artemide. The illuminants are positioned in the head of the small sculpture and are covered by a rotatable sphere that is opened on one side, serving as a manual dimmer.

The open sphere in the Eclisse lamp can be turned freely and it reveals the interior bulb step by step like that. Depending on how much the sphere shows from the illuminant, the light is stronger or weaker, more direct or indirect: if the sphere hides the illuminant completely, the light will only shine from its sides. If the illuminant is viewable, the light will be directly led into the room.

This is how Eclisse enables manual dimming of the light and creates the desired atmosphere for relaxing moments, reading or working. The Eclisse table lamp by Artemide consists of lacquered metal and it is available in three colours. The small lamp is moreover suitable for wall mountings.

The Eclisse table lamp by Artemide was already awarded in the year 1967 with the Compasso d’Oro. The small lamp is displayed in numerous museums all around the world today.
