The Formwork Collection
A masterful homage to the raw, poetic beauty of off-form concrete, the Formwork collection translates the principles of iconic Brutalist and Japanese architecture into a sophisticated porcelain tile. This is not merely a concrete look; it's a study in the subtle textures, tonal variations, and honest imperfections left by the construction process. It captures the tactile grain of the timber moulds and the iconic circular traces of tie-holes, celebrating these imprints as deliberate, rhythmic details. Conceived as a complete architectural system, Formwork provides a vocabulary for creating spaces that are monolithic and serene, powerful and quiet, all at once.
The genius of the Formwork collection lies in delivering this profound aesthetic with the high performance of Italian porcelain. It offers the visual and textural integrity of cast concrete without the associated challenges of weight, staining, or sealant. The system allows for complete design freedom: use the plain tile to create seamless, monolithic floors that flow from indoors to out; introduce the "Dot" decor for a graphic, rhythmic feature wall; or use the "Facet" tile to create a dynamic surface that plays with light and shadow. Formwork is a powerful tool for projects demanding an atmosphere of minimalist sophistication and quiet strength.
Available in Base Tile and Decor Variants:
- Formwork Plain: The foundation of the collection. This tile presents a pure, uninterrupted surface of beautifully textured concrete, providing a quiet canvas and the perfect base for floors or complementary walls.
Available in 60x60cm, 60x120cm, and 120x120cm - Formwork Dot: The signature decor of the range. This tile features the iconic, circular impressions of formwork tie-holes, turning a functional construction detail into a deliberate and rhythmic graphic pattern.
Available in 60x60cm, 60x120cm, and long 30x120cm rectangle. - Formwork Facet: This decor is composed of individual triangular porcelain tiles. Laid together, they form a clean, faceted surface that creates a subtle three-dimensional effect. This clever composition of separate pieces allows light and shadow to generate a beautiful sense of movement across the wall, offering a unique way to bring a sophisticated, geometric texture to any project.
