Gilt Mirror
W690 x H1170 mm

Late 19th century French Bistro mirror with out-curving lemon gold frame and original glass in very good condition c.1880. The lemon gold frames are proving very popular at the moment for interiors but they are not so easy to source.

To create lemon gilt mirror frames, silver leaf is used as the base and then a French polish or shellac is applied over that which makes the silver look a pale gold. This mirror is extremely versatile as it can be hung portrait or landscape.
