A side table that acts as a feature piece.
Pleasure being patient with bringing this new design to life. I came across the top at the start of the year which held a layer of muck on it, with plenty of work bringing it back to life the finish is something special. The two legs hold interesting designs themselves, one being complete solid brass which I designed and then had welded locally here on the Northern Beaches of Sydney which is screwed into the top from the underside, and the other is hand sculpted from Australian up-cycled Sandstone then fitted with solid brass plates both top and bottom.
Handmade from start to finish in my studio here on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, made with patients, love and there will never be another one like it.
This piece is named after a fish that has given me plenty of special moments in my life, I hold a lot of respect for each one I have had the pleasure of catching and taking home for a beautiful feed with friends and family.
Fusing craftsmanship with art, I seek to create beauty and functionality using a material that is part of Australia's natural landscape.
Not only does the sandstone's sheer beauty capture my attention, but
the deep unknown history of the rock lights up my imagination.
My love for nature paired with hardwork allows me to create functional and aesthetical sculptures. Each piece is handmade using only upcycled Australian sandstone. Every piece is an original, so you will forever own one of a kind.
I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which I live and work, and pay my respect to Elders both past & present.
