Emily Heysen, the founder of Inartisan, builds upon her distinctive creative vision to create these large scale paintings. Emily has inherited her passion for fine arts from her great-grandfather, renowned Australian landscape artist Sir Hans Heysen, and her great-aunt Nora Heysen AM, the first woman to win the prestigious Archibald Prize.

Her paintings are defined by rich pigments and bold forms, punctuated with crisp details like the silhouette of a branch or a dotted line in motion. Favouring abstract interiors and landscapes, Emily's practice reflects and complements her design vision for Inartisan.

The interplay of sharp lines and soft curves suggests both expansive horizons and familiar forms, evoking a sense of home. This balance between nature and domesticity gives each work a warm, inviting presence, while also energising the space it inhabits. Some pieces capture movement and play; others, a quiet stillness.
