Glass is common in internal partitions in buildings and it is normally clear glass with some form of manifestation or decoration. More recently decorative printed glass has been used with or without colour to provide distinction between office zones.
EnduraLam™ is a Grade A Safety Glass. It provides increased safety because it holds together if broken, reducing the likelihood of serious injury, whether in a vertical or overhead position. It can also offer increased security as the glass will generally remain in the frame after fracture.
EnduraLam™ has some size limitations depending on the process but Woods Glass has access to some of the largest lamination manufacturing sizes available.
Tinted Laminate has many benefits including improved privacy and originality in architectural design.
Laminated glass can incorporate layers of toughened glass and Heat Strengthened glass for additional strength and safety.
SoundPane™ is a laminated grade A safety glass which is specifically designed to reduce the effects of high noise environments. By combining the effects of various thicknesses of glass with the acoustic interlayer, specific noise reduction properties can be acheived without compromising performance.
The effects of high density office environments and noisy neighbours can have a negative impact on the mental wellbeing of people. SoundPane is perfectly suited for environments where noise can impact productivity and stress levels such as offices and residential buildings.
SoundPane™ can be combined with other Woods Glass products such as ChromaPane™ and Keramo™ for exciting and original aesthetics.
Obscura™ offers a range of options to reach the important design consideration of privacy. Differing levels of privacy can be achieved via light diffusion and obscuration. Obscura can incorporate the following options:
Obscura glass is popular for use in areas like bathrooms where privacy is required, but light transmittance is still important.
TwinPane is the combination of two panes of glass separated by an air gap, also known as secondary glazing. There are many benefits to using TwinPane such as improved acoustic dampening, reduced heat loss due to the air gap and increased energy efficiency.
TwinPane is designed for use in office spaces where noise control is a very high priority. A meeting room where sensitive information is discussed is an example of where TwinPane can be used.
An airgap of 100-200mm is commonly used for TwinPane, anything larger may become an inefficient and expensive use of floor area.
TwinPane can be used in conjunction with SoundPane for even greater noise control.
ChromaPane™ is a painted glass that is ideal to be used in Internal partitions in offices and Institutional buildings in order to add an aesthetic element to the interior design of a building.
More recent trends have seen an increase of back painted glass often known as “splashbacks” from their use in kitchens. However, painted glass is used for complete bathroom lining and even for kitchen doors.
ChromaPane™ has an almost unlimited range of colours and effects including metallic and printed glass, so designers can go crazy with special effects. Some painted glasses have been used externally but the UV stability must be checked.
