Guy Buseyne was born on October 13, 1961 in Roeselare, Belgium. He studied the craft of making furniture and started to have more interest in interior design. He later attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges to learn publishing and graphic techniques. To broaden his knowledge he started a two year education in plastic arts, specializing in ceramics and also learned several techniques for jewellery design. He spent a lot of his time on creating furniture, jewellery and sculpting, which resulted in acquiring lots of skills from experience.

“This sculpture represents the pursuit of independence. A man strides across an invisible wall, finally corageous enough to step into the unknow. His ambitions are unclear, but the determination is evident”.

Guy Buseyne explores the human figure from different angles. Facial expressions are undefined, which enhances the universal character of the pieces and arouses a greater sense of identification in the viewer. Guy Buseyne's work consists of sculptures depicting human beings in a society subject to multiple conflicts and challenges, natural and man-made disasters, and who try to overcome them.

The measurements are the following : 85 cm wide, 126 cm deep, 240 cm high
