Crafted from a bio-circular polycarbonate it represents a breakthrough in eco-conscious construction.
Recently winning two awards at the Architizer A+Products Awards and being named an honoree in three categories at the Fast Company Innovation by Design 2024 awards, the award winning RE/8™ bio-circular architectural mesh is New Zealand made, ISCC PLUS certified and 100% recyclable.
Kaynemaile’s unique manufacturing technique means that they can produce screens to any dimension, giving design freedom and cost efficiency.

Used in commercial and residential projects for both interior and exterior applications.
A solution to assist with solar and privacy screening, interior room dividers, ceiling applications and event spaces.
The architectural mesh has been used in a broad range of projects globally – from carpark facades, to interior office dividers, to airport security screening and art installations.
The lightweight nature of the mesh is one of the reasons architects, designers and engineers are so excited about the material. It can be used in place of steel sheets or mesh dramatically reducing the static load on buildings – not to mention the installation times – reducing project costs.
The mesh is also extremely effective at keeping the sunlight out – while keeping visibility clear. It reduces the solar energy entering a building by 70% - great for parking garages who also want to keep airflow high. The mesh is UV stabilised, so won’t melt or go brittle, its fire-resistant and stronger but lighter than glass.
Kaynemaile’s RE/8™ bio-circular architectural mesh is a patented, world-leading innovation. With over 60-years of polycarbonate material science and research to call on we know our mesh inside out.
Manufacturing
Using a patented manufacturing process results in a mesh with no seams or joins. This allows for the creation of unlimited sheet sizes/dimensions, using a wide range of UV stabilised colours, resulting in a clean monolithic look and a faster more affordable installation.
Sustainable
RE/8 architectural mesh is made using Makrolon RE, a new bio-circular polycarbonate from industry leaders Covestro. This bio-circular polycarbonate is used at the very start of the production process and does not contain any recycled plastics.

We are grateful to be connected with the people behind each of these amazing products and to be able to represent them. Embracing the opportunity to represent other brands, we became Austaron Surfaces.
As an established company, in 2021, the opportunity to promote our product offering to the New Zealand market, saw the founding of a new company within that region with 3 local partners. Austaron Surfaces is locally owned and operated in both Australia and New Zealand.
