Summary of features:
Can you use the KEF LSX II as a multi-room speaker?
Yes! The whole LS family from KEF, including the LSX 2, is designed to be a multiroom speaker allowing you to listen to the same material in different rooms. Using Google Chromecast or Apple Airplay 2, you can create groups and control volume, allowing the whole home to enjoy the same music.Â
Can you connect a turntable directly into the LSX II?
So long as your turntable has a phonostage, either in-built or external, then the LSX II can accept this signal via the 3.5mm input via appropriate cables. If you need any help to check out your setup, just get in touch.
Can you add a sub and what do you recommend?
The LSX II has a dedicated subwoofer output and is designed to support a subwoofer. This output can be used to connect directly to your subwoofer or using the KEF KW-1 wireless kit. As for which subwoofer to use, it depends on the size of the room and where you are planning to put it and how large a subwoofer cabinet you would like. For smaller rooms (<15 sqm), the KEF Kube 8b will be a perfect addition to the LSX II. For larger rooms, or if you want to have a really compact subwoofer, the KEF KC62 is a brilliant addition, able to fill a larger room despite being so small.
Is there an app?
The KEF Connect app is a propriety application designed for the KEF LS family, and it allows you to interact with the LSX II in all the ways you'd expect - source selection, input select, EQ settings and much more. If you don't want to use the app, the KEF LSX II supports Spotify Connect, Airplay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth and Roon.
Can you adjust the EQ to suit your room?
Via the KEF Connect app, the KEF LSX II allows you to configure the LSX II for your listening space. The performance of the speaker can be adjusted to allow for desk placement, stand placement, on-wall placement and much more.
What connectivity options are there?
Lots! One of the things we love most about the LSX II is its versatility. It supports a bunch of connectivity options including Chromecast, Apple Airplay 2, Spotify Connect, Roon, Bluetooth, but also has a wide range of wired options as well, such as HDMI ARC for your TV, 3.5mm auxiliary for sources like turntables, CD players, computers, and optical.
