Named after the simple yet clever aesthetic of iconic cinematographer Stanley Kubrick, the Kubrick Stool by NAU is an exploration of the 3D form through the manipulation of 2D material. With the first two stools ever made being Christmas gifts for Jack Flanagan’s own family, the stool design has since been refined and is now available in three heights and colours, along with coffee table and side table options.
Established in 1997, Cult (formerly Corporate Culture) was formed to provide not only exceptional designer furniture, but also a high level of customer service, a combination not yet experienced in the Australian marketplace.
In his endeavours since then, company founder and director Richard Munao have built one of the most comprehensive collections of brand partners in Australia and New Zealand. Cult has grown from its first location in Sydney to now include showrooms in Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland as well as distributors in Canberra, Adelaide and Perth.
In addition to founding Cult, and supporting strong international partners like Fritz Hansen, Carl Hansen & Son, &Tradition, HAY and Gubi, in 2017 Cult launched Nau, a contemporary collection of Australian made furniture, lighting and accessories by a collective of Australia's most curious, talented and spirited designers.
