Louis XV style bombe chest of drawers

$5,500

This antique French Louis XV style bombe commode, dating from the turn of last century , features stunning marquetry work and gilded bronze accents. The serpentine-front commode is crafted from geometric-patterned Kingwood and adorned with exotic wood inlays. The interior drawers are all crafted from French oak. It is topped with a beautifully shaped marble surface in red and gray veined tones, which remains in excellent condition with its original moulded edge.

The commode showcases two bombe-front drawers, each elaborately inlaid with marquetry on the front and side panels, complemented by Rococo-style gilded bronze handles. The elegant skirt and cabriole legs are also enhanced with intricate brass mounts.

Please note that one side panel (left hand side) has historic repairs, and the pricing reflects this detail.
