An exceptional pair of small Louis XVI period carved and painted demi-lune console tables. Extremely fine Neoclassical detail, geometric frieze and floral garlands, and a central urn with eternal flame. Original Carrara marble tops with finely shaped edge. Excellent original condition, with original ochre paint showing lovely worn patina. No repairs or retouches. Extremely rare to find in a pair. Not to be confused with 19th century pieces in this style, which are generally made of moulded plaster, not fully carved such as these. Priced and sold as a pair.
