Nordic Folding Arm Awnings

If you need overhead shade protection for your deck, patio, or balcony, the Luxaflex Nordic Awnings are the ideal choice. Designed in Sweden, these heavy-duty folding arm awnings are rigorously tested to withstand New Zealand conditions. They offer the ultimate blend of versatility and style, available with automated or manual retraction and a variety of colours to compliment your home decor. The awnings can be attached to an exterior wall, spanning up to 7 meters wide and 4 meters deep without the need for additional support structures.

Arafura Full Cassette Awnings

For the ultimate in convenience and a sleek contemporary look, the motorised Arafura is entirely enclosed by a protective aluminium cassette when not in use, ensures that fabric and components are protected. The Arafura Awning is custom-made for each installation and comes with a range of projection options. ‘Projection’ describes how far the awning extends, and the Arafura Awning is available with 2m, 2.5m, 3m or 3.5m.

Features

Stability & strength

The Dyneema-tape connection used over the elbow joints and arm brackets on the awnings is 15 times stronger than steel on a weight-for-weight basis. Plus it’s UV, chemical and moisture resistant to provide a durable and yet lightweight material that further improves the stability and tension provided by the awning’s heavy-duty springs.

Awning coverage

Nordic Awning

The robust retractable arms on a Nordic awning allow for maximum spans of seven metres in width and are capable of projecting up to four metres out from the building. This very generous coverage requires no posts or other structures for support (base structure allowing), thereby maximising your freedom to enjoy the cover provided and ensuring that the awning presents a clearer visual appearance.

Arafura Awning

The Arafura Awning is custom-made for each installation and comes with a range of projection options. ‘Projection’ describes how far the awning extends, and the Arafura Awning is available with 2m, 2.5m, 3m or 3.5m.

Colours

All awnings hardware comes in three standard colours: Gravel, Silver and White. This enables different components and accessories to be used across the entire range, further enhancing your ability to choose the awning solution that’s right for you.

Optional extras

Depending on your model there are a range of optional extras to enhance the performance and capability of your awning. with Nordic Awnings this includes This includes a roller valance for additional sun protection, pitch control to better control shade, telescopic arms to increase wind resistance, and rain hoods for improved fabric protection when not in use.

Nordic Awnings

Roller Valance

Add an additional screening fabric to your awning, which is easily operated by a Crank Handle and stores away when not in use. Not available with Origin or Viento.

Telescopic Arm

A Telescopic Pole can be used in windy conditions to stabilise the front bar, increasing your awning’s wind resistance and extending its life. These poles are collapsible for easy storage. Not available with Viento.

Rain Hood

An optional Rain Hood is a stylish accessory that will provide improved fabric protection from the elements and extend the life of your awning’s fabric. Not available with Viento.

Pitch Control

Origin, Euro, and Beam awnings have an optional adjustment function that allows you to vary the pitch of the Awning from -5˚ to -40˚ to better control Shade.

Arafura Awning

Décor Kit

Add extra style to your Arafura Awning with an integrated décor kit, which includes covers for the end caps and a decorative strip for the front profile. Available in silver, white or graphite.

Operating Systems

Crank Control (Nordic)

A manual crank control will easily project and retract awnings up to 5500mm in width. Larger awnings will benefit from motorised operation due to the weight of the awning.

Motorisation (Nordic & Arafura)

Operate your awning with the touch of a button using either a wall switch, remote control, Somfy® Connexoon or for complete automation consider sun and wind sensors and voice activation.
