The Neva Table is elegant and classic in design which features sensual and fluid form expressed through soft, angular edges and transitions. Its delicate surfaces invite additional tactile exploration.

Artisan only uses solid wood from renewable resources in their production, only environmentally-friendly materials for treatment, natural oils and wax that emphasize the luxurious and organic beauty of wood texture and that enable it to “breathe” naturally. This emphasizes the natural colour diversity, while the use of harmful chemical substances for wood treatment is avoided by using vinyl-based glue.

Artisan insists that, at the end of the production process, the furniture that adorns your living environment is as natural as the wood from which it has originated.

An addition to the Neva collection, the Neva table is available in 6 different species of timber including European oak, walnut, maple, elm, cherry and pear, with various natural finishes of oils and soap.

Touch

“The final step that makes each piece of furniture unique.
– Meho

Hands are our basic equipment and the control point in our woodwork. From a tree to a chair, our wood travels from the hands of one artisan to another. Wood selection, its preparation for production, rough processing and assembling, finishing and protection… at every moment their sharp eye and infallible touch guarantee an individual approach that results in a top quality product or, more precisely, handicraft.

While you’re sitting on an Artisan chair or at a table or lying on an Artisan bed … be sure that each of your Artisan products was manually processed, assembled and protected.

Hand crafted

From a tree to a chair, Artisan's wood travels from the hands of one artisan to another. Wood selection, its preparation for production, rough processing and assembling, finishing and protection... at every moment their sharp eye and infallible touch guarantee an individual approach that results in atop-qualityy product or, more precisely, handicraft.

Innovation

In 2009 Artisan founded the company ARTECO Wood Technology Centre with the idea to make the company the driving force of a new movement in Bosnia-Herzegovina’s wood industry. As a unique technological centre for the wood-processing industry, Arteco aims to provide infrastructure and expertise in design, prototype production, work on state-of-the-art CAD machinery, woodwork machinery, finishing, preparation, raw material drying.

Respect

Wood and life are inextricably connected, and wood is literally life to Artisan. Therefore, Artisan uses solid wood from renewable resources in their production, only environmentally-friendly materials for treatment, natural oils and wax that emphasize the luxurious and organic beauty of wood texture and that enable it to "breathe" naturally.

Ideal Conditions

Wood is dried under conditions identical to the living conditions of the people for whom the furniture is made.

What follows next is the selection of wood from the storage facility and its cutting to the desired lengths and widths, machine processing and gluing into boards, drying and acclimatization.

Process

Artisan treats walnut, cherry and elmwood only with superheated steam to reach an ideal colour with an accentuated texture without jeopardising the structure and ecological values of the wood. The wood is covered, ventilated in storage facilities at carefully selected geographic locations best suited for natural drying until a critical moisture level is reached- appropriate for the continued drying in computer-controlled chambers using state-of-the-art wood drying software.

What follows next is the selection of wood from the storage facility and its cutting to the desired lengths and widths, machine processing and gluing into boards, drying and acclimatization. The wood is then prepared for assembling the end product, the cutting and cropping of the completed boards or elements through the use of a 5-axis Homag CNC machine.

The final production stages are assembling and finishing work. The use of natural oils, soaps, wax and varnish substances (or the combination of them) on dried wood ensures a longer lifespan, preserves its naturalness and improves the visual wood features – colour, texture, etc.

Performance

Crafted with your choice of 7 wood species in a variety of natural oils and finishes. Whilst using the highest quality in commercial-grade fabrics and leathers.

WGU Design is a family-owned business which was founded in 2011 and built on the inspiration of a second-generation furniture maker and upholsterer. Eric says “ I grew up helping my father build things, and spent my early years around furniture. I grew to appreciate well put together pieces using sustainable wood, there is really nothing like a piece that has been handmade with care and attention to detail- a machine can’t replicate it”.

Eric’s keen eye for design and craftsmanship led him to brands such as Cane-Line and Menu, in response to the growing demand from both the industry and retail customers for high-end quality, designer furniture WGU Design opened its first Melbourne showroom In 2017. The success of the showroom has led to WGU Design being made a Flagship partner with Cane-Line, the only Flagship partner outside of Europe.

2018 has seen Erics’ wife Kelly join the business, with her background as a State Visual Merchandising Manager she brings another sharp eye for design and detail, both in sourcing furniture pieces and the showroom displays. Kelly says “ It’s been great to finally be able to join Eric in the business, my inspiration comes from his enthusiasm and good design pieces we come across in everyday life. We have completed a new fit-out for the showroom, where we draw on nature and places that inspire us”.

Believing that good design has an important role in the lives of their clients, they are constantly sourcing pieces that are not only beautiful but of the highest quality. Up until recently, WGU had specialised in designer outdoor furniture however, finding that both customers and industry professionals were wanting beautiful indoor pieces led them to the brand Artisan. Eric says “we are so excited to be able to showcase Artisan’s exceptional pieces, we took our time to source the right brand because not only do our clients demand quality we do also”.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent.
