Principia Kitchen Collection by Arclinea

For this new project by Antonio Citterio, Arclinea starts with the essence, with the basic principles of the kitchen, reworked: new steel technology and natural wood cutting.

The extraordinary result lies in the link between these basic principles, which show something absolutely original: a new direction for interior design and a new direction for kitchen furnishings, through unprecedented combinations of materials and colours. Principia teams a grained wood in a “rough” finish with stainless steel in the innovative colours generated with the PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) technological process.

Natural materials, innovative production technologies and artisan details in a dialogue with each other and with the evolution of work zones. The resulting new units, dressers and dedicated storage units are then developed internally to become true work zones.

The door on Principia with frame and vertical milling is available ingrained wood with ‘rough’ finish in Fumé Oak, Fossil Oak, teak and in the lacquer colours from the Arclinea range. The integrated handle, the result of a manual production process, is finished with an element in PVD stainless steel, in stainless, Black, Champagne and Bronze finishes.

Increasingly the heart of the home, the kitchen shifts from its role as the focal point in the house, a room inside a building, to become the main player in the development of interiors. A space that ‘comes about through the design of functions, the purpose of work, the many shared experiences. The kitchen is architecture. Exterior and interior are a single design: a part of a whole that unites and relates. Beyond its fundamental centrality, the kitchen becomes the substance of living, a flexible barycentre of a shared, connected, coordinated living space.
