Scarpa Mosaic - Viola Wide Joint

Aubergine

In 1957, Italian architect Carlo Scarpa was commisisoned by the Olivetti typewriter company to design their showroom in Venice, Italy. This showroom is considered a masterpiece of modern architecture, and is currently a museum showcasing his work.

These Scarpa mosaics are inspired by the works of Carlo Scarpa, their form echoing the keyboards of the typewriters themselves.

Available in a multitude of stone finishes, this mosaic can be customised to the project if a stock solution is not a perfect fit.

In addition to the different stones, two different joint widths are available;

Wide Jointed – True to the original form, generally the mosaic is laid, filled with grout and then the whole surface honed back to give a monolithic hard surface.

Narrow Joined – An easier to install mosaic which uses more standard grout joint width, not requiring any specialty installation.
