Freddy De Waele’s progression into sculpting was somewhat unorthodox. Following a highly successful career as a specialist dessert maker, his frustrations with the limitations of chocolate and sugar led him to wonderful world of Bronze. There is aplayfulness to De Waele’s work, which gives it a certain versatility and universal accessibility. The artist cites continual exposure to artistic exhibitions as his source of inspiration however he has a particular affinity with the work of Rodin.
