The inspiration for Onestone first came to me when I witnessed a piece of sandstone break open and the beauty of the never before seen minerals immediately caught my eye. My love for nature became so fond and intrigued by the beauty and immense age of the stone that I took the broken piece home and went into ways of up-cycling it for a new life. Within a week I had created a sculptural candleholder for my Mother. 21 months later I’m so blessed to be where Onestone now stands.

In the early months of this year, I wanted to shine new light on the stone by venturing into sculptural lamps. After countless meetings and whether this would be something I was able to make happen or not I'm proud to introduce Tyto.

Tyto is a unique piece in the design world. This is special to me, being able to bring a natural material from the Australian landscape that was dejected and soon to be a part of a landfill into a new life means a lot! Allowing light to shine onto the stone showcasing minerals that were formed over 200 million years ago and can now be appreciated in your interior is something of pure beauty.

Tyto was carefully designed and sculptured to illuminate the perfect circle on the ceiling portraying the moon.

The spotlight I have chosen which has been carefully recessed into the stone is of the highest quality, this spot was the fifth spot I tried and tested, with its beam angle at 40 degrees and the colour rendition massing to 80%, the light that is projects shines perfectly onto the stone.

About the
Seller

Fusing craftsmanship with art, I seek to create beauty and functionality using a material that is part of Australia's natural landscape.

Not only does the sandstone's sheer beauty capture my attention, but the deep unknown history of the rock lights up my imagination.

My love for nature paired with hardwork allows me to create functional and aesthetical sculptures. Each piece is handmade using only upcycled Australian sandstone. Every piece is an original, so you will forever own one of a kind.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which I live and work, and pay my respect to Elders both past & present.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
