Wood | Laminate Heated Floors

Add Wood | Laminate Heated Floors for warmth in your home.  Many choose wood or laminate flooring for their homes to create a warm and cosy ambience to a room. Now you can take that look and physically introduce that warmth through your home by installing Warmup’s Wood & Laminate Electric Underfloor Heating solutions.

Our heaters are foil based, ensuring even heat distribution throughout the room. Built with spring-like flexibility, the core wire is a durable cushion that can withstand heavy furniture, snooker tables, stiletto heels and other household items, provided installation is done correctly.

The heating pads are designed to never overheat and can be left on continuously. Sensors work in conjunction with an intelligent Warmup thermostat, which ensures that the temperature never exceeds 27°C under the laminate. From a performance and cost-efficiency perspective, we recommend a heating temperature of 24°C.

When choosing wood or laminate flooring, it is important to ensure good thermal conductivity, which is best when using denser wood. The thinner the flooring material and the higher the density, the shorter the heat-up time and more responsive the system will be.

We recommend that the thickness of the wood or laminate should be no more than 18 mm as any thicker than this will hinder the efficient performance of the system. When it comes to the board width, wider boards will often show more “movement” than narrower boards of the same material, so we recommend that the ratio of thickness to width should be in the region of 7 to 11. A board with a thickness of 16 mm and width of 160 mm would give a ratio of 10, so is ideal.

As this is not in-screed heating, the heating time takes longer and is effective within 2-6 hours of switch-on. Laminates must be heated evenly and gently, to ensure the expansion and contraction is steady and even. The wood & laminate underfloor heating is pet and child-friendly with no protruding cables or hardware, and is 100% waterproof, for those unfortunate incidents.
