Yakisugi

Yakisugi draws inspiration from the centuries-old Japanese technique of preserving wood through charring, where the scorched surface reveals rich contrasts and organic patterns. The design captures this interplay of depth and texture through abstract, irregular blocks of colour, framed by fine, dark outlines that recall the natural seams and cracks of burnt timber. Its tonal palette balances warm, earthy hues with cool neutrals, creating a composition that feels both grounded and contemporary. Crafted from a luxurious blend of wool and TENCEL™ lyocell fibres, Yakisugi offers softness, resilience, and a subtle sheen.

Jacaranda’s custom designs in wool are contract rated so can be used throughout the home or in high-end commercial locations. If TENCEL™ fibres are included within the design, it is not recommended for wet areas or any location with high footfall. Jacaranda’s hand-tufted designs are fully customisable in terms of size, shape, colour and composition.

For design alterations or colour matches to references outside Jacaranda’s collections, a strike off will be created for customer approval, after which the lead time is approximately 14 – 16 weeks.
