Wildflowers carpet the rich red earth of Western Australia during spring. The pretty and adaptable native daisy, ‘Everlasting’, displays swathes of small, resilient flowers. Their petals, depicted here in soft yellows and cool blues, are woven in pure silk—raised above the background surface of abstract foliage rendered in textured wool in verdant green-blue hues—highlighting their shining vitality.

About the
Seller

The journey of your rug begins with Dena Lawrence. An acclaimed Perth-based artist, Dena’s design inspiration is collected from many sources, in particular her deep appreciation for the ever-changing Western Australian landscape. Initially created on paper, Dena’s expressionist paintings are brought to life by artisan weavers using knotting techniques mastered over many generations. Each rug is ethically handcrafted incorporating the world's finest fabrics including 100% Kashmir silk and NZ wool.

When you purchase a luxury rug from Dena Lawrence Designer Rugs you will be investing in a one-off artwork that will completely enrich the interior of your home or commercial space. From the first brush stroke to the final woven knot, each rug can take over 12 months to create – ensuring a masterpiece that is astonishing to look at and impeccable in its quality.

With decades of experience channeling her extraordinary creative energy into music and visual arts, Dena Lawrence is an explorer of inner and outer landscapes. An acclaimed artist, art therapist and mental health nurse, Dena's artwork is born of an intuitive search, in a free-flowing state, of an authentic spirit of self. By practising techniques she teaches, Dena uses art as a tool to break habitual behaviour, to explore light and dark, to celebrate the beauty of nature, and to soothe in difficult times.

Dena Lawrence’s rugs are the manifestation of the artist’s personal search for harmony and vitality through art. The wildflowers and landscapes of her native Australia and the dazzling colours of India, where she has travelled extensively, are a constant source of inspiration.

Dena has received multiple nominations as a finalist in the prestigious Carpet Design Awards at Domotex. Dena won ‘Best Studio Artist Design’ at Domotex Carpet Design Awards 2024.
