John and Jet Hitch first came to see us at Tile Warehouse in early 2015. They were looking for a very contemporary look and initially we focused on travertines. They were keen on a continuous flow from inside to outside throughout living spaces and into the hallways and bathrooms and around the pool, including the pool coping.

"They were in essence looking for solutions in regards to continuation and flow in a very classical but modern theme".

We considered Turkish product, travertine from Rome and from Tuscany. Samples were couriered from NZ to France where John and Jet were based as well as to London! After due consideration and investigation, John and Jet fell for Patara Limestone which features throughout all living areas in the home on floors, walls and in bathrooms.

Then we were onto the Vanities. John and Jet had a clear idea of the look they wanted to achieve and the pictures they liked screamed, Emperador. The finished result of the FUME Emperador Polished slabs are a huge feature of the bathrooms spaces. The Patara Limestone has a soft warmth. From the main floors in Brushed 900x450x20mm and Wall tiling in the bathroom in 450x450x12mm, the amazing columns and walls cladded in random Split-stone through to the pool copings, this material created a classic warmth, timeless and elegant look.

The Patara Split-stone in particular was a feature and was required to be mechanically fixed. The textural impact is Impressive!

Then we were onto the pools. The Bullnosing's were selected again from Patara Limestone with Craquelle Dew Blue mosaics adding a luxurious finish.

Throughout all stages, the architect, Jason Bailey were involved in critiquing the selections. Kellie Kernohan and Jason Bailey have designed a house that meets and exceeds the owner's requirements and assisted John and Jet in realising their dream.
