Scenic Sorrento banner

This home is one of those places where the location really adds to the look and feel of the property. The 831sqm coastal Sorrento oasis is just as opulent outside as it is inside.

Amongst the three living zones, five bedrooms, three bathrooms and guest suite you’ll find the epitome of first class fittings. Highlights include barn feature trusses, cathedral ceilings, Kustom timber floors, a beautiful limestone fireplace and a dreamy kitchen complete with hidden cocktail bar and butler’s pantry.

The expansive use of large-scale joinery acts as framing for the breathtaking views performing as art pieces throughout the home. Another noteworthy feature is the central hallway which gives you a catwalk feel.

You’ll discover the seamless transition between indoor and outdoor dining and entertainment, with the layout based around the concept of gathering in a multi-zoned environment. It’s a personal culmination of many long hot summers spent on the peninsula.

Those summers are now enjoyed on a north facing terrace with private pool, spa and outdoor shower that overlooks the coast.

This luxury home is perfect for not only housing but entertaining a multi-generational family that will act as a timeless dream home for years to come.

Method behind the masterpiece

What was your inspiration?

Inspiration came from the Mornington Peninsula location and wanting to achieve continuity from the outside in. This resulted in a relaxed beachside vibe with industrial insertions. The design is natural, coastal and modern and provides a sense of tranquillity.

How does the door hardware fit into that?

The NIDO door hardware had a refined industrial feel which complemented the coastal modern theme and coordinated with the other snippets of industrial details.

What did you match the hardware to?

All the fittings and fixtures used throughout the house are a gunmetal finish, so the Graphite Nickel door hardware matched perfectly.

What is your favourite detail in the home?

The Philippe Cheminee wood heater is surrounded by a custom-made steel fireplace base, that replaces the more conventional stone fireplaces found in Sorrento. These random industrial pieces within the house successfully juxtapose the softer coastal modern theme.
