A contemporary bach-inspired home near the beach, featuring low-pitched roofs, weatherboard cladding, and an open-plan living space that maximizes light and space, harmoniously integrating landscaping to address stormwater setback requirements.

Just a short stroll from the beach, this home playfully acknowledges its location with a contemporary bach feel. Low-pitched roofs with exposed rafters and large eaves sit atop classic weatherboards, while a relief in plywood and battens completes the reinterpreted holiday aesthetic.

A stormwater waterway along the north boundary brought with it significant setback requirements, so landscaping became an integral part of the design. High ceilings and doors in the large open-plan living space, coupled with extensive use of glass, ensure a level of light and spaciousness that completely belies the very modest size of this home.
