A couple of months ago we entered the 2021 Albury Wodonga Business Awards, following an anonymous nomination in the Excellence in Commercial, Professional and Business Services category.

Exceptional communication and service to our clients, the community and our team is what we pride ourselves on, so to receive news recently that we have been shortlisted was acknowledgement to us that we are working in the right way.

This week we will welcome two judges into our Studio, and from there will eagerly await the results early in July.

Below we share a few extracts from our entry submission with you…

The way we communicate with our clients is critical to our success. We pride ourselves on being open, accessible, and approachable and this is supported by our main street facing studio, which itself is open plan and welcoming. Anyone is welcome, at any time.

The development of close and often personal relationships informs our practise and regularly continues after our working relationship has finished. We do this by blending friendly with formal; we’re here to listen to what our clients want, but also position ourselves to guide our clients based on our expertise.

Above all else, coming to work or engaging with our team should be a fun, positive experience. We aim to support this approach through the space we operate from, the culture we build, and theprojects we produce.

Key to the development of our team is actually working as a team – in a respectful, open, collaborative, and innovative way.

We believe there is no better method for employees than to learn from each other. Our open-plan studio encourages dynamic interaction between all team members as they share knowledge, discuss opportunities, and air concerns. We work on the principle that “nobody owns anything; everyone owns everything” - simply, there are no territories, and each workspace is the same.

We embrace mentoring work experience students (below) who will head to university and hopefully return to the region as dynamic professionals with a passion for their local community.

We differentiate ourselves through the diversity of approaches. Our clients do not come to us for a set design style, that’s not who we are, or what they want. Through the collaborative design process, we can embed our client’s own style and aspirations into built outcomes that represent who they are.

We do not want only to be renowned for the work we design, but so too for the people we are and what it is we bring to the community.

We are unique because we are a regionally-focused business that celebrates excellence on both the local and international stages. We do this by delivering inspiring work locally and cultivating a professional voice internationally as a result thereof. In the last twelve months, Regional Design Service was recognised as one of four design practices changing the design industry in the Asia Pacific Region and awarded a Good Design Award Gold accolade for the pro-bono project Plan Rand.

The practice was profiled in numerous local, national, and industry print media as well as being invited to speak about Regional Practice to global audiences including a Munich-based conference. Directors Aaron and Phillip were also appointed to a variety of public and industry committees that advocate for better-designed regional communities.

We don’t just want to design aesthetically pleasing structures, we want to deliver quality design outcomes that will be used, enjoyed, and cherished for generations to come.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
