ATG Project & Property Solutions (ATG) was looking for a digital project management solution that would allow on and off-site stakeholders to seamlessly share workflows and communication in a real-time environment of complete transparency.
Procore's cloud-based project management platform provides staff, subcontractors and clients a web-based meeting place where detailed project status—across every aspect of the build—is clearly organized and displayed. This real-time transparency and consensus keeps all teams and stakeholders on the same page, and the project moving smoothly forward with fewer slowdowns.
Prior to adopting Procore, ATG had difficulty continuously updating clients on the status of a project. The progress reports were Project Manager-dependent, and so were at the mercy of the PM's schedule and “eyes-on“ presence on the site. This inconsistent progress report environment deprived stakeholders of an ability to know where exactly the project stood at any given moment, and across an array of critical project details. Irregular and unpredictable phone and e-mail communications exacerbated the sense of insufficient progress reporting, and the lack of communication between project managers and onsite teams also led to issues with correct tracking of defect logs.
ATG selected Procore for that system's web-based platform and suite of project tools allowing users to log in anywhere, anytime, via the online platform or iOS app. Another key selling point for ATG was the Procore platform's drawings tool, which allows the permitted user to mark up drawings in a shared digital space with instant visibility. Procore's platform implementation is also fast and intuitive, with actionable basics up and running in short order.
Jemma Davey, Project Administrator at ATG, commented, “We needed a solution that would ensure quick and easy access and project tracking for employees, clients and contractors, whether in the office or on the go.
“We now run all of our reports through Procore for tracking job site activities. Using their project management platform, we can clearly see what the project standing is via photos that can be uploaded to the platform by the foreman. This means we can ensure that everyone is on the same page with inspections, defects and RFIs.“
Procore's platform forms a central hub for all the project's documents, reports and communications, eliminating the need for excessive paperwork and printing, and enabling a complete view of all activities and resources for anyone with access to the tool.
Jemma notes that Procore's array of project management tools create real efficiencies and transparent reporting of all projects to save staff a considerable amount of time.
“At the click of a button, anyone on or off-site can know immediately what's going on within a project, or access essential resources. For instance, the Directory tool provides the foreman instant access to the subcontractor's contacts. Likewise, the Drawing tool enables instant access to drawings, and new revisions instantly available in real time“ said Jemma.
Safety and compliance are built into the foundations of Procore's platform. The web-based solution has an Inspection Library tool, which can be accessed and updated in real-time on any device. This enables users to create immediate observations as they witness a safety violation or defect on-site, so any risks or dangers can be instantly addressed.
“Using the Punch List/Defect tool, our foremen are able to show exactly where the defect is, add a photo and assign it throughout the project. This ensures a smooth hand-over at practical completion,“ said Jemma.
