Whether you’re a wine expert or simply someone who enjoys an occasional glass, storing your wine correctly is always a great way to ensure good preservation and a wine display sure to impress.
Made in France since 1976, EuroCave has offered its incredible expertise in the wine industry, creating wine storage systems that promise quality, preservation and aesthetics, all in one product. Catering to wine experts and novices alike, EuroCave’s wine cabinets have brought innovation to the forefront and provided a way for customers to store their wine as a winemaker would have intended.
“To appreciate wine and to ensure that it’s consumed in the best condition, it’s important to store wine so that it matures as well as possible and then to serve the wine at the optimum temperature,” explains Tony Thomas, Director of EuroCave.
There is a wide range of wine fridges available to purchase; therefore, narrowing down your search and determining what you want out of your product is crucial. EuroCave’s wine fridges are designed to perform two specific functions, making the choice streamlined and simple, mitigating indecisiveness.
“The first type of fridge ensures the wine matures in the best possible conditions. Over many centuries of storing wine, it has become evident that the best conditions for storing wine are similar to those found in the deep limestone caves in France. These caves have the characteristics of extremely consistent temperature at 13 to 14 degrees centigrade all year round, high humidity and no exposure to harmful UV rays, and no vibration,” says Tony.
“A single temperature EuroCave wine cabinet is designed to emulate these conditions by ensuring that the temperature remains at the desired 13-14 degrees, the humidity is controlled at between 55 and 75%, the glass doors block out UV rays, and EuroCave wine cabinets virtually eliminate vibration.”
Wine fridges maintain a specific climate to prevent the temperate from fluctuating, thus preserving the quality of the wine and its flavours and aromas. If the wine is not stored correctly, it can oxidise, meaning the vibrancy and freshness of the wine decreases. EuroCave cabinets prevent premature ageing of your wine, corks drying out and allowing air inside the bottle, and much more.
“The second type of fridge is designed to hold bottles of wine ready to drink. The perfect drinking temperature depends on the particular variety of wine you are serving.”
Champagne 6 degrees centigrade
Sauvignon Blanc 8 degrees centigrade
Chardonnay 10 degrees centigrade
Pinot Noir 14 degrees centigrade
Bordeaux/Shiraz 18 degrees centigrade
Wine fridges offer the flexibility to store wine at optimal temperatures for different varietals, ensuring that each bottle is enjoyed at its best.
Wine cabinets also go beyond preservation. They bring a beautiful aesthetic to any home, perfect for anyone who loves to entertain or loves a cosy night in. Elevating any space and adding a touch of sophistication, a well-curated collection of wine deserves to be in the spotlight.
Investing in a wine fridge not only enhances the enjoyment of wine but also contributes to preserving its quality and flavours over time. So, whether you're a casual wine drinker or a passionate collector, a wine fridge is undoubtedly worth considering to elevate your wine experience at home.
