If closet clutter and mess are the banes of your home, adaptable storage may be the solution for you. The team at Wilson & Bradley share how to make it work for any wardrobe.

The wardrobe is truly an unsung hero in every home. Whether to store your freshly ironed clothes or stash away clutter, the closet is often the first place to come to mind. But a wardrobe's lack of internal structure can easily make way for mess and disorganisation.

For the first time in over 50 years, Italian storage manufacturer SIGE has developed a wardrobe solution to combat mess and enhance organisation. The Kaos system, sold exclusively at Wilson & Bradley, declutters wardrobes with an elegant, tidy and easily adaptable design solution.

Made with versatility in mind

Wilson & Bradley says the team worked closely with SIGE to develop this product specifically for the Australian market.

"The [design] was developed as we wanted to create a product that was highly adaptable," a spokesperson explains. "A product to suit a wide array of cabinet sizes and accessories to fit within the one frame, rather than have different assembly processes for different products within the range."

Indeed, adaptable design is a welcome addition to the ever-changing Australian lifestyle. With nearly 46% of Australians working from home and approximately 6.73 million families in Australia, homes are susceptible to clutter now more than ever. As a result, storage designs must adapt to different spaces, whether it be multiple home offices or addressing the needs of growing families.

According to a SIGE spokesperson, "Kaos is the result of years of research in the field of ergonomics applied to design, the meeting point between style and versatility. Shapes that give harmony and new spaces in the bedroom.”

Different sizes and styles to cater to every wardrobe

What sets apart the SIGE Kaos wardrobe system is its various sizes. Homeowners can mix and match the system depending on their lifestyle needs.

The installation is a straightforward three-step process for maximum ease of assembly. First, select the Alpha frame.

"The Alpha frames range from cabinet sizes of 450mm up to 1200mm in two different heights, allowing for deeper storage if required. So in terms of flexibility, [it] caters to most applications.”

The next step is choosing the accessories to suit the frame. SIGE has created a diverse array of accessories for the Kaos system. All accessories in the Kaos wardrobe system are interchangeable within the frame, making for easy assembly and rearranging if needed.

The final step is installing a 450mm Blum MOVENTO runner into the carcass and the Alpha frame is fitted straight onto the Blum MOVENTO runner.

Homeowners can choose from the accessories below to set up their Kaos wardrobe system:

Choose from three shelf finishes - wooden, glass, leather

The shelves insert straight into the Alpha frame. The standard wooden style is available in a dark chestnut finish, with the 18mm shelf thickness allowing for excellent durability while the wooden surface makes for an easy, effortless clean. Meanwhile, the leather and glass shelves add a softer touch and subtle style to wardrobes.

Multi-purpose steel shelf

Primarily suitable for workstations, the multi-purpose steel shelf locks when in an open position for extra stability during use. Available from 900 to 1200mm, it's an excellent option if you need an extra desk when working from home or an additional vanity table for makeup application.

Steel tray

Moisture and humidity trapped within enclosed spaces can damage clothing over time, leading to mould outbreaks. The steel tray is ideal for storing clothing due to its perforated bottom, allowing for better ventilation and promoting freshness for longer.

Trouser rack

While wearing your pyjamas can be a norm when working from home, trousers are still an everyday essential. The Kaos trouser racks are easily adjustable, allowing space for various trouser styles, from thinner materials like linen to thicker types like chino or wool. The anti-slip rubber insert prevents the trousers from sliding off the rack.

Shoe rack

Made from a powder-coated metal with an anthracite finish, the shoe rack is similar to the steel tray insert as it also contains a perforated side for better ventilation to reduce foot odour.

Fabric hamper

Available from 450mm up to 1200mm, the fabric hamper features an anthracite waterproof, stain-resistant and breathable fabric – making it the perfect place to store all your dirty clothes no matter what they've gone through. The material of the hamper is also machine-washable for ease of cleaning.
