Paradise Timbers

In contemporary Australian architecture, timber has evolved from a structural material into a defining design element. Designers are moving beyond standard applications, using timber to create dramatic floating staircases, oversized feature treads, sculptural furniture, window seats, benchtops and architectural details that become the centrepiece of a home.

At Paradise Timbers, we've seen a growing demand for large-format hardwood components that combine exceptional strength with flawless aesthetics. That's why we're proud to supply and manufacture with Crafted Hardwoods—an innovative Australian-made engineered hardwood that delivers the beauty of solid timber with enhanced consistency, stability and sustainability.

Why Large Timber Stair Treads Have Become a Design Feature

Today's homes are embracing open-plan layouts where staircases are no longer hidden away—they're showcased as architectural sculptures.

Large timber stair treads create:

A warm natural focal point
Seamless transitions between floors
Luxurious floating staircase designs
Greater visual weight without looking bulky
Timeless appeal that complements modern, coastal, Scandinavian and contemporary interiors

Whether paired with glass balustrades, steel stringers or minimalist walls, hardwood stair treads add an organic warmth that few materials can replicate.

Australian Engineered Hardwood—Designed for Performance

Crafted Hardwoods has reimagined how premium hardwood is produced.

Using advanced Australian manufacturing technology, lower-grade hardwood resources that would traditionally be underutilised are transformed into high-performance architectural products, helping maximise every harvested tree while maintaining the natural appearance and character of genuine timber. The products are Australian made and available with FSC® and PEFC-certified options on selected lines.

The result is hardwood that offers:

Outstanding dimensional stability
Consistent colour and grain
Excellent structural performance
Reduced movement compared with traditional solid timber
Beautiful natural finishes

Paradise Timbers' Precision Craftsmanship

At Paradise Timbers, we take these premium hardwood components even further through our precision manufacturing process.

One of the key techniques we use is Domino jointing.

This advanced joinery method allows individual timber sections to be accurately aligned and permanently bonded, producing large-format stair treads, furniture panels and feature components with exceptional strength and precision.

The benefits include:

Extremely strong structural connections
Accurate alignment during manufacture
Cleaner, more consistent joints
Greater stability across larger components
Premium furniture-quality finish

The finished result appears seamless while delivering the strength required for demanding architectural applications.

Bringing Your Vision to Life

At Paradise Timbers, we don't simply supply timber—we help bring architectural concepts to life.

Our experienced team works closely with architects, builders, joiners and interior designers to manufacture custom Crafted Hardwoods components tailored to each project.

Whether you're creating a striking floating staircase, a handcrafted dining table, oversized benchtops or bespoke furniture, our precision manufacturing and Domino jointing techniques ensure every piece is built to perform while showcasing the natural beauty of Australian hardwood.
